Ikebana of Richmond member, Junko Liesfeld presented a lecture entitled “Shibori, Kasuri, Yuzen.. The Art Form of Kimono Fabrics". She focused on the history of Kimono, trends with colors and patterns at different times, children and men’s Kimono, and Kimono makers who are trying to keep traditional weaving, dying, and embroidery alive.
18 arrangements were on display for the Member Showcase; 4 from the Ikenobo School, 4 from the Ohara School, 5 from the Sogetsu School, 4 from the Ichiyo School and 1 from Sangetsu school.
